Sewing 102 with Amy Jones; April 10, 17, 24 May 1, 8 2025 5:30pm-8:00pm
The Sewing 102 class is a continuation of Sewing 101, or for beginner sewists who want to learn more advanced sewing skills. You should be able to cut fabric to required sizes, sew straight seams, finish edges, and understand your machine for stitch length, stitch width, and tension.
We will learn techniques such as sewing a zipper with two methods, and making a buttonhole with your machine. We will study reading a pattern and how to cut your fabric according to your measurements, as well as using blind hems to finish a garment. Projects include a lined pouch, a tote bag, and a pair of shorts or pants.
Students need to bring their own sewing machines in good working order.
Class will be held at the BERNINA World of Sewing Studio, 5218 Holly Ridge Drive. Just up the hill from the store. No refunds if cancelled within 7 days of the class.
