Tamarack Jacket - Quilted - Using Strip Piecing w/Carrie N. - September 10 & 24, 2026, 10:30am - 4:30pm RALEIGH

Break out your fabric strips and join us to create a beautiful quilted jacket just in time for the cool weather to come.

We will focus on strip piecing in class, using either purchased strips (e.g., jelly rolls) or cutting your own strips from yardage of your favorite fabrics. If you would prefer a more streamlined approach, you are welcome to make a jacket using a whole cloth approach that avoids the detailed piecing.

We' ll include options for patch pockets, bindings, and closures along the way. Select fabrics that make your heart sing, and you' ll fashion a one-of-a-kind garment that will be a joy to wear.

There are two different versions of the Tamarack pattern available to attempt to accommodate a range of sizes, emphasizing fit for smaller or larger bust sizes. We will be happy to help you choose the version that is best for you.

Intermediate. If you have experience with garment sewing or quilting, your instructor can help you with the area that' s new to you. If you are new to quilting, you will likely find it easier to make your jacket from whole cloth (like the blue sample jacket), rather than piecing a design.
