Katahdin Bag w/Mary Ellen - May 28 & June 11, 2026 10:00am - 2:00 pm WILMINGTON
Mount Katahdin, named "great mountain" by the Penobscot tribe, is the largest mountain in Maine. This bag holds a mountain of stuff! It finishes at 16" wide x 8" deep x 13" tall with the zipper closed. You will learn to sew jelly roll tubes and zigzag them together to make a large flat piece (it could be a rug!) that forms the bag. We will add interior pockets, handles and a handbag zipper. You will also learn a "quilt-as-you-go" technique when joining sides, how to insert structural stays, and how to box the bottom of the tote.
Homework: Yes! Before and between classes in order to complete the bag on 5/28.
