Summertime is the perfect time for a cute boxy top or shift dress, and the Cielo offers a streamlined, beginner-friendly approach for bringing these garments to life.  

Join Carrie for a fun day of skill building while adding to your summer wardrobe.  We' ll begin by reviewing the basics of working with patterns, selecting sizes, and preparing the fabric, then we' ll examine a variety of seam finishes (yes, you can use a French seam inside the sleeve!).  Next, we will work with basic darts, an elegant bias binding finish for the neckline, and sleeves with optional cuffs.  In addition, we' ll discuss simple modifications to the top for personalizing your look.

If you' re a beginner, focus on making the top (View A) to master the techniques, then build on those skills while making the dress on your own at home.  Those with more experience could make the top or the short-sleeved dress (View C).
